About us

Kia Ora and Welcome to Clevedon Kidz

Children 0 - 5 years

Clevedon Kidz provides the highest quality of nurture and care in a stimulating learning environment where our professional teaching team believe children learn best through play and guided participation.

Our planned programme is founded on the core Christian principles of acceptance, love and honesty, and is aligned to Te Whariki, the national early childhood curriculum.

Clevedon Kidz Early Childhood Centre and Get Set 4 School Centre are community based all day centres provided by the Clevedon Presbyterian Church and situated in the picturesque rural setting of Clevedon Village.

Our aspiration is that your child will acquire a love and enthusiasm for learning, through active exploration and independent thinking that will continue to influence their learning throughout their lives.

Philosophy

We are committed to building reciprocal relationships with the parents and whanau of our local and wider community.

At Clevedon Kidz, children will have the opportunity to experience Te Whariki in practice through:

  • Developing understandings of key Christian principles
  • Acknowledging and embracing  te reo Maori and tikanga Maori
  • Developing independence
  • Being creative and expressive
  • Feeling good about who they are and developing self esteem
  • Developing physical self-confidence and social skills
  • Caring for and respecting themselves, others and the environment
  • Persisting, problem solving and taking risks
  • Developing early mathematical and literacy skills
  • Developing communication and language skills for a range of purposes
  • Working within appropriate and inclusive rotines, limits and boundaries
  • Embracing and celebrating individuality

Our aspiration is that your child/children will acquire a love and enthusiasm for learning, through active exploration and independent thinking that will continue to influence their learning throughout their lives.
