Coast Kindy

We are a community based centre and as part of the special nature of our kindergarten, we acknowledge God as our creator and teach the children that each one of them is a unique individual, created and loved by God and his son Jesus Christ. We recognise the importance of the family to the development and wellbeing of the child and seek to support, encourage and affirm them in their role. We are licenced for 30 children aged 2 to 6 years and have a very stable staff who are committed to providing an environment where children can explore, grow in confidence and a knowledge that they are capable, life long learners. We provide excellent care and education in our loving Christian centre.

About us

The Whangaparaoa Baptist Community kindergarten was established in 1984, and has provided a warm, inviting centre to many families over the years. We are a non profit Christian early childhood centre that operates as a service to our community. We are strongly family focussed, welcoming our families to be involved in many of the events held throughout the year.

We are licensed for 30 children aged 2 to 6 years and have a very stable staff who are committed to providing an environment where children can explore, grow in confidence and a knowledge that they are capable, life long learners. We provide excellent care and education in our loving Christian centre.

Our centre environment

  • We want to provide an atmosphere which is warm, accepting and welcoming for adults and children and that will build reciprocal relationships.
  • Our aim is to support and care for families in our kindergarten community.
  • We want to provide a safe environment where children are protected as individuals and develop a sense of belonging.
  • Families/Whanau are valued and welcomed. They know their children best.
  • The diverse cultures in our community are respected and included in our programme.
  • We acknowledge the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • We acknowledge the Reggio Emilia core values of relationship, creativity, environment, time, learning and teaching and reflective practice and are including them in our curriculum.
