About us

Fossil Bay Kindergarten is based on beautiful Waiheke Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, near Auckland and is situated in a rural farm-line setting. Ducks and chickens wander amongst trees, grass and gardens. The children benefit from and respond to the peace of this unique setting. Our Kindergarten reflects the unique and diverse community and landscape of Waiheke Island.

Our purpose is to create and sustain a nurturing community of inspired children, teachers and parents. Our modern-day approach to anthroposophical based education, is delivered in a physical and emotional environment that facilitates the unfolding of each child’s full potential.

A strong sense of community is built through parents and whanau working together in many ways; from friendships to working bees, to the celebration of beloved festivals that bring everyone together. This community feeling enhances the sense of belonging felt by both children and adults and creates an environment of trust, support, warmth and growth, shared by all.
