Kadimah School is a co-educational Jewish day school for boys and girls, which prides itself on providing the highest standard of Jewish religious, cultural and all round secular education for children from New Entrants to Year 8. Kadimah is pleased to consider potential students from a diverse range of religious, cultural, ethnic, national and community backgrounds.
We treasure our Jewish culture, religion, rich sense of history and ethical purpose. These are brought to life through the religious ceremonies and celebrations that are an integral part of daily life at school. By gaining knowledge of our Jewish traditions, ethics and family values – along with a commitment to the practice of modern Judaism and a love for New Zealand – our young people become caring, active, responsible members of the community.
Our objective is to extend our students to the best of their ability and to foster a strong sense of Jewish identity and pride in their heritage and a lifelong love of learning. We strive to create an environment of harmony for the Jewish community within wider New Zealand society, in which genuine acceptance and understanding can continue to develop.
We believe that our Charter and Strategic Plan will give Kadimah School a basis to move into the future with confidence, as we continue to provide a comprehensive and excellent Jewish and secular educational experience, in a contemporary environment as a state integrated school.
Between 1971 and 2010 Kadimah College operated as a Private School. Following a successful application, Kadimah School became a State Integrated School on 1 January 2011. The School is well resourced with 11 classrooms, a Gym, Music Room, ICT Room, Library and Administration areas. The school is fortunate to have a high level of support and involvement from highly engaged parents and families.KADIMAH_0758
Parents have high expectations and aspirations for their children and they take a keen interest in their learning. Parents willingly support programmes and provide non teacher assistance for special character religious festivals, education outside the classroom (EOTC) activities and numerous inter school sporting activities.
The School has an active Parents Group (the KPFA) which provides valuable support for school wide events and fundraising activities. The special character coupled with a strong shared vision underpins Kadimah’s operations and future goals. Building on the solid traditions of the past, our Jewish heritage and values, there is a strong future-focussed direction to drive Kadimah forward.
