About us

Ōtara Kauri Kids’ vision is the three C’s: Confident, Complete and Competent. We equip our children to build confidence and trust in themselves. They learn to complete their tasks to a high standard and to believe in themselves as competent learners.

We offer lots of activities in the centre that work with children’s interests and needs, and also get involved with community activities such as the cultural celebrations at the local library, free dental check-ups and the Ōtara programme against bullying.

There are three parents’ evenings a year and we encourage parental involvement, welcoming parents on trips, providing feedback and setting goals with us for their children.

We work alongside CREATE Charitable trust, which helps educate parents about the importance of childcare, as well as having a close relationship with Bairds Mainsfreight and Yendarra Primary schools which we visit for one day a week, four weeks prior to the starting date.

We are lucky to be part of Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre and swimming lessons can be provided.

All Kauri Kids childcare centres are committed to Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum, and offer 20 hours free ECE. WINZ subsidies may also be available for your family. Visit the WINZ website for more information.

Costs

Fees effective 22nd August 2016:

Over two year olds: $5.50/hour

Under two year olds: $6.00/hour

Parent on site: $4.60/hour
