We are a small early childhood centre on Auckland’s North Shore. We provide care and education for children aged 3 months to 6 years old, and have a mixed age, child-led environment. We believe children learn best when we follow their interests and have secure relationships with the adults around them.

We are a small family-orientated centre and pride ourselves on being an extension of home. We welcome children from 3 months up to 6 years of age. Children and adults are encouraged to treat themselves, each other, and the environment with respect, kindness, care, and love. We recognise that each child is a unique individual and develops and learns holistically. As a centre, we honour Te Tiriti O Waitangi and Aotearoa’s bicultural nature, and Te Reo and Tikanga Māori are interwoven in all that we do.
Our centre programme is based on Te Whāriki (the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum document), and we follow an child-led, emergent curriculum. Each child’s interests are promoted and followed, and we as their teachers act as facilitators. Each child’s needs are respected and catered for and we follow a primary care approach.
A range of activities and experiences are provided for the children which ensure the five key strands of Te Whāriki – well-being, exploration, communication, contribution and belonging – are promoted and developed. We encourage children to challenge themselves and explore in a safe and nurturing environment.
Relationships with peers and teachers are emphasised, and are seen as a key part of every child’s learning and development. As we are a mixed age centre with all children together in one environment, we emphasise and promote tuakana-teina and ako – teachers and children learn alongside and from each other.
We celebrate our centre’s and families’ multiculturalism, and embrace it through language, kai, songs/music, and experiences to create an awareness and respect for others’ cultures.
