About us

KingsWay Community Preschools are not-for-profit community preschools which is an arm of the KingsWay Trust, a registered charity (CC51684). Unlike KingsWay School which is an Integrated State school, the KingsWay Community Preschool’s are not constrained by the Integrated Schools Act to restrict its roll, and welcomes children from all sectors of the community.

Although the Preschools now come under the auspices of the KingsWay Trust, our Red Beach Centre was previously known as Red Beach Preschool.  KingsWay Preschool has served the community since 1983.

The Orewa Centre has relocated to our Silverdale site which opened on 4 February 2013.

KingsWay Preschools have a long and well respected reputation which is evident in past and present ERO reports.  It was the vision of Graham Braddock to offer Christian preschool education to children. Hilary Monk was our inspirational founding teacher whose legacy is still enjoyed today.

KingsWay Preschools believe in offering ALL children, regardless of diversity, an opportunity to participate in our programme.

Learning Environment

We combine the New Zealand ECE Curriculum, Te Whāriki, with our Biblical Curriculum, giving children the benefits of a holistic foundation enabling each child to develop a love of learning.  The structure of the day is organised to maximise a variety of learning experiences and to support individual styles of learning. Click here to view our daily timetable.

Both our Preschool’s foster an environment of emergent learning where numeracy and literacy are inherant throughout the programme.

Transition to school programme

We currently offer a programme for all 4 1/2 year old children, which is established with each child individually.  This programme includes pre-writing and mathematical skills, phonics, numeracy and literacy and continues on with a project approach.
