Mt Roskill Early Childhood Centre was established in 1992 to service the needs of the adjoining Mt Roskill Grammar School and contributing schools and for the parents of the wider community.
It has been established as part of the Mt Roskill Grammar School Board of Trustees commitment to employment equality - offering high quality preschool education and care which maximises our ability to attract and retain commited, high calibre staff by drawing from all possible sources of training, skills and experience
We cater for children aged birth to five years, in a purpose built environment, which is divided into two areas.
The over two area caters for children aged 2-5 years. This area provides challenging and stimulating learning experiences for this age group. The environment encourages active participation with children able to make their own choice regarding resources to interact with over and above the planned activities that staff provide throughout the day.
We have a spacious outdoor area designed to meet the developmental needs of the children in a safe environment The under two area caters for children under the age of 2.
Staff provide learning experiences which enhances their opportunity to grow as competent, confident learners healthy in body, mind and spirit and nurture their wellbeing to the fullest potential. In the under two’s setting we have a spacious inside and outside area with easy access where children explore and learn develop skills.
The various curriculum areas are designed thoughtfully for children to have free movement, sensory experiences and develop social skills. Our aim is to foster children’s holistic development and give them a sense of belonging within a safe and secure environment.
