We believe that Palms Preschool will provide children, staff and Whanau with a warm and inviting environment where they will be treated with respect and aroha.
We encourage children to be independent thinkers where they can develop into competent and confident life learners; through valued play the children can question and explore the wider world around them. Palms Preschool values the importance of open-communication between families, children and staff where we can all work together to develop an environment that is stimulating, challenging and inspiring.
We promote a calm environment this being an essential element when interacting with children.
Our centre is a place of wonder, curiosity, creativity and excitement. As teachers we foster all of these through questioning, role modelling and being ENTHUSIASTIC.
We create an environment where we celebrate the different cultural diversities within our community; by including the children's culture and beliefs into the programme we develop a multi-cultural learning environment. We acknowledge and respect the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and promote Maori culture and Te Reo Maori into our practices.
We value the importance of a child orientated programme, this is to extend the children's knowledge and learning through their own interests. We provide the best possible learning outcomes and teaching practice by allowing the children to freely explore all curriculum areas throughout the centre.
Parents and Whanau are encouraged to be involved in their child's interests and learning, with this support and involvement we aim to create confident and capable learners.
We value the importance of all children being given the same rights and care; by challenging the child with developmental activities they can be engaged in their own learning.
