Woodlands Park Kindergarten is located in Minnehaha Avenue, Woodlands Park, a quiet cul-de-sac in the Titirangi area. Trees, grass, beautiful fresh air, peace and nature all contribute to creating an environment that encourages young children to experience, share and understand their world.

We offer a balanced programme of both structured and free play while following the Te Whaariki Curriculum which is based on the following aspirations for children:
"to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society."
The Kindy is licensed to cater for 30 children per session.
We differ in that we offer separate sessions for 2-3 year olds and 4 year olds. This allows us to grade the activities, games and outings specifically to each age group and developmental stage to deliver optimal learning as their developmental ability progresses. Our aim is for each child to experience a wide range of activities both individually and with their peers, to learn to master new tasks on their own but also how to play in a group, how to sit and listen but be confident to stand up and share news with everyone. We celebrate our differences and each child is treated as an individual, we encourage them to explore their interests and make new friendships by providing a safe, nurturing and caring environment.
Both sessions are structured with set out times for: art/craft table activities, morning tea and lunchtimes, mat times for stories, music, dance and games and outside play times as well as teacher led group times for the 4 year olds. This encourages all the children to participate and have a go in a wide variety of activities during the day.
During the 4 year old session we offer teacher led group times for age appropriate learning in preparation for school. The oldest 10 children will learn 'ready for school' skills of letter and number recognition, early reading and writing and maths to help them transition to the classroom.
We celebrate all occasions in a child's life, their birthday, our annual Easter Egg hunt, the children's Christmas Concert (with a special visitor from the North Pole), plus we make special gifts for Mothers' & Fathers' Day.
